SAVING WATER

Leaky pipes in your basement, under your sink, and behind your washing machine or dishwasher can waste great amounts of water.  They can also damage your home.

How to detect Water Problems:

  • If you feel there is a problem, call the AMUD office and we will issue a service order to check your meter for possible leaks.
  • Review your water bill each month for unusual fluctuations in the bill when water usage has not changed.
  • Do an annual check up of possible leak sites, on every water connection, hose and basin is good preventive maintenance.
  • Checking for leaks, taking shorter showers and practicing sound outdoor watering principals can reduce water bills and conserves this precious natural resource.  Efficient use of our water resources should always be practiced, not just when rainfall is significantly below average for the year.  Water is a resource that can not be manufactured.
