AMUD SERVICE AREAThe District is a Municipal Utility District created by the Texas Water Commission on July 21, 1982 and confirmed by an election held with the District on August 14, 1982. The rights, powers, privileges, authority and functions of the District are established by the general laws of the State of Texas pertaining to Municipal Utility Districts, particularly Chapter 54 of the Texas Water Code, as amended. The District is composed of a number of subdivisions, scattered individual residents and undeveloped agricultural lands surrounding the southern portion of Lake Granbury and along that portion of Brazos River which flows from Lake Granbury. Acton Municipal Utility District (AMUD), maintains water systems for portions of Hood County and Johnson County; including the subdivisions listed here.
