Port Ridglea East Sewer Infrastructure Project
June 10, 2014
Acton Municipal Utility District (AMUD) has an ongoing commitment to help improve and protect Lake Granbury water quality in your area by providing first time sewer availability for your subdivision.
As you may recall, in January AMUD announced that funds were budgeted this year to construct main wastewater collection lines and thereby provide sewer service capability for all remaining portions of Port Ridglea East (PRE). At the Regular Board Meeting in May, AMUD Board of Directors awarded a contract to A+ Water Works, Inc. for construction of the project.
Construction may begin as early as the week of June 23rd, and is expected to be substantially complete by the end of summer or early fall. Once complete, anyone wishing to tie onto the system will need to apply for sewer service with AMUD, pay the appropriate connection fees and hire a licensed plumbing and electrical contractor to install the grinder pump system and abandon the existing septic holding tanks.
For your convenience, please review the attached copy of AMUD’s “Rates and Connection Fees”. Under our current fee structure the grinder pump and connection fees for connecting to AMUD sewer is $5,783.00. This cost does not include your on-site work. Although grant funds have been used to assist low to moderate income qualifying households, we were unsuccessful in obtaining grant funds this past year; however AMUD will continue to pursue grant funds in future Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding cycles to assist additional qualifying households.
We appreciate your patience while the project is in progress and apologize for any inconvenience caused to you during the construction phase. Please feel free to contact the AMUD office with questions about this important project, or visit our website at www.amud.com for updates on project status.
